i am working on my first online portfolio, which isn't easy given the thousands of photos I have to go through. I basically threw some up there and would like people to comment, if you have time, or rate them actually. You can critique them on originality and on asthetics. If you don't mind, I'd really appreciate having some feedback. There are some on there I know I am going to replace and others I plan to keep, but I'd like an objective opinion. And please... don't compare my work with the "Picasso's" of photography you might see on there. LOL. Some of these people are INCREDIBLE! I hear they sell prints for thousands of dollars. hmmmmm......
maybe someday. right now i'm just happy with my gigs and to be doing what i love.
thats a diverse range - I wasn't up to signing up so will comment here. I like close up - big faces filling the screen so I really like the first one of the little boy with the party hat. I also like ten and when eyes dart for the same reason. Others that grabbed my attention were rome sky divided, signage, sunflower and friends, stamen power - this I think was due to the colours - vibrant. I also liked ketsup - for no particular reason - just a bit different.
you seem to have good ideas, but i think most of your angles/lighting need work.
i think that the swan/crow and the cat/cat food pictures under 'pets' are both of a professional level; the last 3 in 'palate' are also of the same caliber.
the portraits have some very good ideas but something doesn't feel truly "cohesive" or "professional" about them.
thank you. no, it doesn't sound mean. everyone sees the world and pictures differently, but there always seems to be a few that stand out that most people agree on. this really helps me to know which ones to keep and which ones to ditch. a lot of my pics on there are just natural lighting as i don't work in a studio. however, i just got my portable lighting setup and i can't wait to see what a difference it makes in my scheduled appointments. it is going to be different for me though because i'm used to just shooting naturally and not in an artificial setting. thanks for your input. :)
